Betty's 80th Birthday

We celebrated our dear neighbor Betty's 80th birthday last weekend at the Elks Lodge. It was fun seeing and meeting old and new friends and they even had a karoake party afterward. We were so glad to be with Betty on her special day and we love her so much!

NCL Convention

Last weekend my mom and I attended the NCL 50th Anniversary Convention in Los Angeles. It was a beautiful day and I felt like we were in Hollywood because they were filming a movie in the hotel that we were at. It was fun watching the set up the equipment and place the extras. I saw Katherine Hiegel and the best part was that I got to take my picture with Gerard Butler! The actual Convention was very nice and we heard two motivational speakers in the morning. Later, we went to a lovely tea with our fellow members and it was nice to spend a day with our NCL friends!

Cinderella For a Day

Yesterday I attended my vice principal's daughter's fifth birthday. My friend Destiny and I went as princesses. She was Belle and I was Cinderella. We had very formal costumes; thanks to Wenches and Warriors they were tailored to fit us perfectly. The children were so excited to see us and all but one believed that we were princesses. One little girl said, "You're not princesses, you're from school!". But by the end of the day, she seemed to believe the act a little more. I really got into character; I talked and acted just like Cinderella. It was quite funny to see I'm sure. We read them Princess stories, helped them open presents, and took a lot of pictures. It was a fun day! I'll have more pictures later I hope.

Sara's Birthday

Happy Seventeenth Birthday Sara! We had fun celebrating my cousin's birthday with delicious food and my mom made a beautiful all white cake! It's nice getting to spend time with family admist this busy life!

Crop Walk

Last weekend I volunteered for the Crop Walk which is a fundraiser to help the hungry. My and mom and I worked as National Charity League volunteers and we were busy! We prepared all the food and I helped man a water station by the beach. There were over 100 walkers and they walked for 6.2 miles in 90 degree weather! I was grateful to participate in such a worthwhile cause.

Prom

Last weekend was my first official prom! It was so beautiful and I had such a wonderful time. It was at the Camarillo Ranch House and there were over 300 people (which is a lot since my school is small). Evan and I had the best time and we enjoyed spending time together. For dinner we went to Scotch and Sirloin and we had the best view of the ocean in the entire resturant. We then headed to the prom and we had a great time on the dance floor. It was fun seeing all of my friends and the location was absolutely beautiful!

A Night of Cotillion

A couple weeks ago my former Cotillion instructor, Miss Martine, called me to ask if I would represent Cotillion at the Pointsettia Pavillion's 50th anniversary. When I heard this I was thrilled and I was so excited for the opportunity! Evan and I took six private ballroom dancing classes to prepare and we danced the swing to the "Glenn Miller Medley". I had so much fun; I absolutely love ballroom dancing! I also got to speak at the event; sharing the Martine Cotillion history while describing what my experience was like with the program. It was a wonderful event and I'm so glad that I was able to partake in it!

Spring Break

I'm happy to say that I had a very relaxing and fun Spring Break. Among many things I went to Sea World and Griffith Park. I hadn't been to either place in many years so it was fun to take a walk down memory lane. Who doesn't love Shamu after all? Unfortunately I don't have pictures; I took them on my portable camera.
Also here is a Relay for Life update: We have currently raised $2,518.00 Slowly but surely!!
