Lauren Cook: February 2007

This last Tuesday was my sweet sixteen- how exciting! I had such an amazing birthday party; my mom threw a surprise party for me with our family and close friends. She did above and beyond and I was definitely in shock.
Of course everything was pink- which is my favorite color. The balloons, flowers, and even the napkins were pink! Also, the cake was pink, which was the most gorgeous thing I have ever laid eyes on! Not only was there one- but three. They were heart shaped and tasted delicious. One of was white with rasberry filling and the other was chocolate with a chocolate creme filling. It was such a fantastic cake- wow!
Dinner was delicious as well; people could choose between chicken, beef, or salmon. The service was wonderful- it always is at the Saticoy Country Club. I think that everyone had a really great time; the food was great, the people were great, and the party was great!
I got some beautiful gifts: a Tiffany's bracelet, a Lladros Siamese cat, and a rhinestoned memory box just to name a few. Wow! This has definitely been the best birthday ever and I will never forget it!

Getting Foothill involved!

This past week at school, I was able to set up a booth and get my peers involved with Relay for Life and Daffodil Days. So far, about 40 people have signed up. This is a true blessing and I am so grateful for everyone wanting to become apart of these amazing programs. Please pray that the youth of our community will be willing to make a difference with the American Cancer Society!

Relay for Life Kick-off!

This past Thursday, I attended the Relay for Life kick-off. It was at Rusty's Pizza Parlor and I officially registered my team. We are making a lot of progress and we have our own official website: http://www.acsevents.org/relay/ca/ventura/calistars

Ventura-Buena Game

I'm a JV cheerleader for Ventura. Go cougars! The biggest basketball game is the game between Ventura and Buena- long time rivals. The game takes place at Ventura College, and it is always a very exciting game!
Unfortunately, our team lost by three points. Even though we were not victorious, our squad did a great job cheering and our half time went really well. Go VHS!!

| View Show | Also, I have been working on the Daffodil Days campaign; which sells daffodils to people who want to help with the American Cancer Society. I am planning on selling the daffodils- I've raised $145 so far! I will also go to various companies to propose Daffodil Days with a sales-representative. I will go to the warehouse to sort all of the daffodils, vases, and teddy bears. The best part is that I will have the opportunity to give daffodils to cancer patients at the local hospital; this is a true blessing and I feel honored to be able to have this opportunity.
If you would like to help in some way at all, I would definitely appreciate it! The best part about this title is the numerous opportunities I have to make a difference in society- I feel like I can reach out and help so many more lives with this crown, and for that I am truly grateful.
