Lake Nacimiento
I got my summer off to a great start by vacationing with Evan's family up at Lake Nacimiento. The Ueltchi family hosts many family and friends every summer at the lake and it's always a great time. This was my second time visiting and it was very relaxing. I loved going out on the boat and getting some sun! I was really afraid to wake board but I finally got the guts do it! Even though I hit my head really hard, I was still glad that I tried it. And hey- at least I was able to stand up! At Lake Nacimiento there's a big horse shoe tournament on the campground. Evan and I coincidentally got matched up and I felt bad for him having me as a partner. Let's just say I don't have the best aim...it was still fun though. It was a great trip and I hope to visit again!

Class of 2009
Last Thursday I celebrated with my friends and family for my graduation! I can't believe that I'm an official graduate- it hasn't quite hit me yet. This is such an exciting, scary, stressful, fun, and life-changing time in my life and I'm trying to make the most of it. I had a wonderful graduation ceremony and I was honored to sit in the front row. We had a nice party with my family afterward and I then went on to Grad Nite with my friends. There have been so many fun parties to celebrate this success in my peer's and my life.

Happy Anniversary!
Earlier this month Evan and I celebrated our three year anniversary! It's crazy how the time has flown by! I'm so grateful to have in my life and throughout all the business of life, I have always been able to rely on him for strength, love, and support. He was so sweet for our special day- he bought me a big Mrs. Field's cookie that he surprised me with in the morning. We went out to BJ's for dinner and we've had so much fun spending more time together now that school's out!
Senior Awards Night
Earlier this month, Foothill hosted the annual Senior Awards Night. There were hundreds of students and parents together and it was a special evening to recognize all that the Class of 2009 had accomplished. I was honored to receive recognition for volunteering over 250 hours of community service and I received a special pin for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA throughout my senior year. I also received pins for being a finalist for Best English student and for Best Social Science student. I was honored to receive the Best All Around Female of the Year- that was so exciting for me and it is an honor that I will remember for the rest of my life. I was so glad that my parents and my grandmas were there for the event- it made it all the more meaningful.

National Society of High School Scholars
I've been a member of the National Society of High School Scholars for about three years but it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I attended one of the organization's events. Since they are based in Georgia, it is rare that they are ever on the west coast. However, they were hosting an event at the Getty Museum and so I was honored to attend. It was especially exciting to meet Mr. Nobel, the man who founded the organization but who is also the great nephew of the original Mr. Nobel who founded the Nobel Prize. It was quite a memorable experience!
Candlelight Dinner
I'm baa-aack! Geez- life has been so exciting but busy! I just finished my graduation week and it's officially summer- that means much more time for blogging! My first event to cover is our Senior Candlelight dinner- which happened less than a month ago so I'm not too behind. For the first time ever, Foothill had a Senior Class dinner at a restaurant called "Candlelight". It was a beautiful venue and we had a great time spending time with eachother. Afterward, we went over to a sleepover at my friend Arianna's house and we had a blast playing Murder in the Dark- so scary! I feel so blessed to have such wonderful friends!
