On Saint Patrick's Day, I participated in Ventura's parade. It was a ton of fun and I don't believe that I've ever seen so much green in my life! It was everywhere- from clothes, to hair, to cars- it was incredible! Of course, I wore a green dress- I didn't want to get pinched! My dad drove me in a Mustang and I had a wonderful time waving to everyone. I love the parades in Ventura because I'm always bound to see my friends and family there. The enthusiasm at the parade was outstanding for a Saturday morning, and I felt honored to be a guest. I was even given a beautiful rose from the local flower shop while on the parade route!
P.S. Sorry about the annoying music on the slideshow- I'm still figuring out how to work the program!

Reach for the Stars Event
Also while I was in Fresno, I attended the Reach for the Stars event. It was at Tephite middle school. I was given the oppurtunity to inspire underprivileged children and encourage them to always have hope. The kids asked me a lot of questions such as "How has the pageant changed your life?", "Are you more confident now that you have had the experience?", and "Who is your hero?". All of these questions were great, and I felt blessed to have the experience. The students were all so kind and I felt extremely welcomed. The kids even made a castle painting with our pictures in it- it was so cute! After the "interview" I sat down with my fellow sister queens and we signed autographs for the children. They really enjoyed that!! I felt like a celebrity, signing all those papers and then having two local news stations there! Ron, the man in charge of this event, did a fabulous job and it is wonderful that he cares so much about his students.
After the event, we went to a delicious Armanian lunch. Ron then took me to visit his sponsors. I went to a flower shop and then a bakery. That was really neat because I was given a special tour of the factory and received some yummy treats after I left. Then, I was on my way back to Ventura! What a fun trip!

Reach for the Stars Event Gala
During my trip in Fresno, I was invited to attend a lovely dinner with an Italian theme. Everyone was very hospitable and a delicious meal was served. I met so many people, many of them being cancer survivors. I was given the oppurtunity to talk about Relay for Life with them and I encouraged them to participate in the survivor lap at relay. Also, they had amusing entertainment- they had an "Elvis". It was very fun and not to mention, hilarious. It was a pleasure to be there, and it was a wonderful time.
Relay Update
Hey everyone! Here's a little update on our Relay for Life progress. So far there are 33 team members and we have raised $90 so far. If you would like to contribute, then please let me know so that I can refer you to our team donation page. To raise money, my mom and I made purple (Relay color) chocolates in the shape of a ribbon- they are so cute! My goal is to raise $1,000 so I hope that I am successful!
Daffodil Days Warehouse
A little while ago, I sorted daffodils at the daffodil warehouse for the American Cancer Society. I participated with my fellow Ticktockers and my mom and I had a great time! I raised $305 toward Daffodil Days and I was so excited that I could contribute!!

Relay U School
All day Saturday I attended Relay University- it was a ton of fun! I went with my committee and I was in awe at the tremendous amount of enthusiasm everyone had. We all wanted to be there and make a difference with Relay for Life, and it was encouraging to see so many as passionate to relay as I am.
I went to three different classes. The first one taught us how to recruit people to be on a team or potentially begin a team. The second class focused on how to be an effective team captain and utilize our team for support. Lastly, I went to a class that discussed how to get the youth involved, which especially pertained to me. It was amazing- and I learned so much about how to be an effective leader of my team.
I met of lot of people; many of them being cancer survivors. I was so touched when a girl attending USCB shared her cancer story with everyone. What scared and amazed me at the same time was that she was fifteen when she was diagnosed- that is a few months younger than me! I was so impressed by her and I see her as a role model due to her courage and strength to live on. After she spoke, there was a time for all of the cancer survivors to stand up and walk around the room for a standing ovation. I was in shock of how many people stood up, especially when the college students stood due to their age. I almost cried because it was such an overwhelming experience for me. I feel blessed that I can make a difference and I am proud to know that when they do find a cure for cancer, which they will, I will have helped find that cause.

Santa Paula Theater
Wow! It seems like it's been forever since I have gotten to write on my blog. I actually miss it a lot! So therefore, I am back to continue! Woo hoo! Anyway, a little while ago my mom and I volunteered at the Santa Paula Theater. We baked cookies (mine weren't exactly Martha Stewart status) and handed out programs.
The play was very entertaining- it was called "The Final Adventure of Sherlock Holmes" and I was quite impressed by the humor and wit of Mr. Holmes.
We brought my dad and grandma as well, and everyone was quite entertained!

About Me
- pageant_girlie
- I'm about to attend UCLA as a freshmen with a major in pre-business/economics. However, I consider myself somewhat undeclared; I'm always open to learning and experiencing new things. I'm making this blog about my daily adventures and my goals for my life. I just graduated from Foothill Technology High School where I had an absolutely amazing experience. I'm in a transitional period right now as I am in between high school and college and my focus for this summer is to take acting lessons to pursue that passion. I love living life and I want to make the most of every day. Life is a gift- that's why we call it the present!
