Penny's 80th Birthday
Yesterday, I went to Penny's 80th surprise birthday party. It was so beautiful and I really had a wonderful time. She was so surprised and everyone was so happy to be there. For about an hour and a half we were served delicious appetizers; my favorite was the coconut shrimp. For lunch, we were served a delicious garden salad, garlic mashed potatoes, grilled chicken, asparagus, and fillet Mignon. Wow- that was probably boring to read, but it was that good! Of course, the cake was yummy as well. It was a lovely day in Malibu and I'm glad that I attended.

Car Rally
Last week was finals, so as you can imagine, I have been very busy. Two weekends ago my dad and I participated in the NCL Father-Daughter Car Rally. We had such a blast and we ended up winning out of 100 teams! The theme was James Bond so at each stop we had to do all kinds of crazy activities. At one of the stops my dad had to look at a picture and use my hand to draw the image- we ended up winning that as well! The best part about the car rally was that we stopped at our philanthropies; Food Share, Rubicon Theater, Project Understanding, CMH hospital, and many more. We donated canned goods, 10 blankets that I sewed, a children's book, and birthday bags for children whose parents cannot afford a birthday party. It is the best feeling to help someone; I truly love National Charity League. After the event, I met up with all my friends at Saticoy Country Club and we had delicious brunch. What a fabulous day!

Whale Watching
Yesterday, Evan and I had a fabulous time on our whale watching trip. Evan's sister works at Island Packers, so we got in for free! We saw over 7,000 Common Dolphins, seals, California Sea Lions, and one gray whale. Even though the weather was quite cold, we still had a great time together. I always enjoy my time with Evan; he is such a wonderful companion. I'd like to go again soon so that I can the orcas!

Happy 2008!
I hope that everyone had a very happy new year's! I had a wonderful time with my family and it was great to ring in the new year together. Every year my mom hosts a large family party, and I think that this year was the biggest yet! We had so much food- a little too much actually! It's a tradition in our family to make New Year's Eve similar to a game night, so I played Scrabble, Uno, Dominos, Yahtzee, and Bingo. On New Year's Day, I spent time with my Auntie Nette, who is in town from Santa Rosa. We watched the Rose Parade and had a delicious breakfast. Later that day, Evan and I went over to his grandma's house and had a nacho party with his family. It was a special day and I'm glad that I started the first day of the year on such a good note!

2007-2008
I can't believe that 2007 has passed. What a year it has been. A lot has changed this year, however, a lot of things have stayed the same. I enjoyed a wonderful reign as Miss Teen California International 2007 and I got the opportunity to represent this great state on a national level. I am still with my boyfriend of over a year and a half, and I still love him just as much. I am getting along great with my parents and I'm doing well in school. I'm making many new friends, and sadly I have had to leave some behind. I have gotten greatly involved in ASB, and am truly loving the experience. I feel that I am learing a lot about myself, yet I still have a lot more learning to do. I hope that you all have a blessed 2008 and that you look back on the year 2007 with fondness. Peace be with all, God bless.
Winter Formal
Wow! I'm definitely behind with my blog postings. This has been such a busy holiday season!! I guess I'll start with Winter Formal (which was about three weeks ago). Evan and I spent the evening with our friends Alex, Amanda, Sam, and Destiny. We had a great dinner at a resturant called Osabi. It was a Teppan house so they did all of those neat tricks while serving dinner. We then headed to the dance, which was at City Hall. The theme was a "Night to Remember". The decorations were beautiful and I think that everyone had a great time. Not to mention, my friend Amanda won Winter Formal Queen! After the dance, we headed over to Alex's house for a pancake party. Even though Alex was a terrible chef, we still had a great time. It was certainly a night to remember!
